The Danes WorldWide, the Embassy of Denmark and the Danish-Thai Chamber of would like to invite all Danes (and spouses) living in Thailand to an information meeting where we will give you an update on new rules and issues, which affect most Danes residing in Thailand. Among the topics on the agenda are the following:

  •  – What are the options for returning home to Denmark with a foreign spouse? (the rules for family reunification / familiesammenføring).
  • – Retention of citizenship for Danish children born abroad (the 22-year-old rule).
  • – Danish national pension (folkepension), MitID and Danish banking issues.
  • – Taxation issues: timing and best time of the year for moving back to Denmark.
  • – Keeping your Danish Driving License and alternative solutions in Thailand.
  • – Updating your data with the National Citizens Register in Denmark (Folkeregisteret).
  • – Admission to Danish high school and university.

Among the speakers will be Ambassador Jon Thorgaard, Secretary-General Michael Bach Petersen as well as Lisbeth Kjaergaard, leading law counselor from Danes Worldwide.

DATE: 7 February 2024.
TIME: 1730 (registration starts) and the meeting will start sharp 1800 and close 2100.
VENUE: The Embassy of Denmark, Sathorn Soi 1, (10 Soi Attakarn Prasit), South Sathorn Road,10120 Bangkok
ADMISSION FEE: 300 THB per person. This fee includes canapés and drinks.

SECURITY NOTE!

We would like to draw your attention to the security policies at The Royal Danish Embassy.

  • In order to be admitted to the event, please bring identification proof with you. The following documents with a photo ID will be accepted: National ID cards, passports & driver’s license cards.
  • Walk-ins without prior registration will be rejected at the main gate of the embassy.
  • Late arrivals (after 1800 ) will be rejected.
  • We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Please note, that there are no parking possibilities at the embassy itself. However, parking spaces will be available in the vicinity of the Embassy area (123 parking lot 300 m from the embassy).
