Do You Need Some Good Pieces of Advice?

Members of the Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce may now free of charge seek advise and otherwise consult a special “Senior Advisory Group” consisting of previous Presidents of the DTCC. The Group was established during the recent Annual General Meeting.

The members of the Group has a combined experience of over 300 years of doing business in Thailand!

As a minimum, they will meet in connection with the DanCham networking events in February, May, August and November. In between these group meetings, each of the senior members may also be contacted individually at any time.

Poul Weber

Poul Weber has lived in Thailand since 1960 and worked for three major companies, namely The East Asiatic Co. (EAC) from 1960-70, Berli Jucker/associated companies in Thailand and Burma 1970-95 and Thai Asahi Glass/associated companies 1995-2002.

Moreover, Poul has been active as President of the Danish Thai Chamber, Chairman of The European Business Council, Governor of the American Chamber as well as President of the Scandinavian Society Siam.

In 1995, after retiring from Berli Jucker, he set himself up as an advisor in Thailand and Burma, for among others IFU, a Danish Government Investment fund, (now retired), which has several joint ventures in Thailand, of which Poul was a member of, or advisor to, the board of seven, a.o. Georg Jensen, Carlsberg, Royal Copenhagen, Flux and Styromatic.

Poul is also Consul for Iceland, was Goodwill Ambassador of the  City of Copenhagen, Honorary Chairman Bangkok Riding and Polo Club – Under Royal Patronage and finally, he is Chairman of Lotus Star and TWF.

Tom Sorensen

Tom has been headhunting candidates for top executive and management positions in Thailand since 2003. He has lived in Thailand for over 20 years and has held several honorary positions during this time:

– President, Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce for five years.
– Director, Thai Board of Trade, five years.
– Chairman, Scandinavian Society of Siam, two years.
– Chairman, International Balut Federation for five years.
– Chairman, Board of Airlines Representatives (European).
– Grand Master, Hash House Harriers.

He is a certified Director from the Thai Institute of Directors.

Tom worked 25 years at Scandinavian Airlines Systems and headed SAS offices in Indonesia, Kenya, Tanzania and Thailand. He was the Managing Director for DSV Thailand (logistics) and for more than ten years, he was a Partner at Grant Thornton Thailand (global firm in audit, accounting, tax, management consulting).

Tom is currently a Partner at Boyden, one of the world’s most famous and oldest executive search firms with 70 offices around the world.

Thomas H. Nyborg

Thomas H. Nyborg has lived and worked in Thailand for 24 years. He worked and studied in USA and Italy prior to arriving in Thailand for the first time in 1988, after obtaining a Graduate Gemologist degree from Gemological Institute of America in California earlier same year.

Current position: Partner in Singapore-based urban growth technology start-up Aerospring Gardens pte. ltd.

He is a Certified Company Director under IOD Thai Institute of Directors (2007), and an alumni of Chulalongkorn University’s SASIN Business School (2001) and of London Business School (2016-17).

Thomas served as President of Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce from 2014-17, after being elected to the board in 2009.

In 2014, he was appointed Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador under Copenhagen Capacity and Wonderful Copenhagen.

Since 2002, Thomas is married to Thai national K. Nirachara, with whom he has two trilingual sons (English, Thai and Danish), aged 14 and 11.

Secretary and General Advisor 

Gregers Moller

Gregers Moller arrived in Thailand in 1988 as Foreign Correspondent for Berlingske Tidende, a Danish newspaper group covering all of Asia. He still occasionally provides content for Danish media from Asia.

In 1993, he started publishing the magazine ScandAsia for the Nordic residents and companies in South-East Asia and Hong Kong and established Scand-Media Corp., Ltd.. Scand-Media Corp., Ltd. provides printing and other forms of graphic work to major international customers in Thailand and other ASEAN countries.

In 1997, he established Scandinavian Publishing Co., Ltd. specialized in producing magazines for Chambers of Commerce and various other associations and brands. In 2007, ScandAsia Publishing Co., Ltd. was branched out to specifically develop this publication into a modern online website and marketing communication channel targeting the Nordic people and companies in Asia.

Gregers Moller and his wife Disraporn Yatprom established Naturist Association Thailand in 2007 offering holiday resorts and membership events to the rapidly growing Thai and foreign naturist lifestyle community. In this niche market, he and his wife  opened Barefeet Naturist Resort in 2015, which in 2017 was expanded with spa facilities.

He is the father of daughters Nina Jagota (1983) and Monica Sitapan Wøldike Møller (1988) and speaks both Thai, English and Danish.
