Receiving Pension/Income from Denmark? Are Your Danish Children born in Thailand or are You going back to Denmark with your family?

On the 5 February 2025 Danes and their families were gathered at the Embassy of Denmark to learn more on issues such as family unification, Danish citizenship regulations for children born outside Denmark and EU, Danish national pension (folkepension), regulations on dual country taxation, driving license and other hot topics. See brief presentation here.

Ambassador Danny Annan bid welcome to the many guests, along with Marianne Kruger, Representative for DW and Michael Andersen, Secretary-General for DTCC. During which the partnership between the arranging organisation was confirmed once again.

Danes Worldwide and DTCC have worked together on bringing information on a number of important issues relevant for work, family and schooling almost uninterrupted since 2017. The information meetings have always been supported by Danes Worldwide in Denmark either online as this year or simply by visiting Thailand. At this meeting Michael Bach Petersen, Secretary General of Danes Worldwide, accompanied by Lisbeth Kjaergaard, leading law councilor at Danes Worldwide gave a elaborate presentation of the progress done in Denmark in particular together with the Danish parliament members.

Especially useful was the legal aspects of family reunification, pension and taxation of Danish income presented by Lisbeth Kjaergaard. Michael Andersen gave a short presentation on the Danish regulations for using a Thai driving license while visiting Denmark.

All in all a very informative meeting for most Danish people living in Thailand.

Food, Sweets and drinks were sponsored in part by Pandora Production (Thailand) and coffee and tea was kindly supplied by the embassy.
