LEGO is finally opening the doors of its new manufacturing factory in Vietnam, driving sustainability and innovation and creating new labour opportunities.
With the “state of the art” factory in Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Duong, Lego set new benchmark on “how to build safer, cheaper, faster but without compromising quality,” the executive added on his LinkedIn.
Construction of the project began in November 2022. The 44.8-hectare factory in VSIP III Industrial Park also serves eco-friendly targets, including the installation of 12,400 rooftop solar cells totaling 7.34 MWp, according to Lego. The factory is set to employ 4,000 people.
In November 2024, Lego said it had completed 90% of the construction and started trial production at the factory. The trial production has an annual capacity of 30,000 tons. It is set to take months to ensure official production can fulfill Lego’s strict requirements for its facilities worldwide.
