On the 2 October 2025 our Honorary Member Ambassador Suphanvasa C. Tang (Embassy of Thailand in Denmark), Mr. John Alexandersen, Trade Counsellor, Embassy of Denmark in Thailand and 22 members and friends visited the ECCO factory and tannery in Ayutthaya.
The visit was arranged by the DTCC office as a networking and a company visit to learn more about the world famous shoe brand and the production of both leather and the shoes. The Managing Director Mr. Gitsada Boonchirt bid welcome together with ED Michael Andersen from DTCC. The visit included an introduction to the Embassy of Thailand and its mission and activities in Denmark given by the Ambassador for Thailand.
The managing staff from ECCO gave an excellent introduction to the ECCO Company and the production facilities after which the guests were guided around at the factory areas. The visit was well visited, unfortunately we had to limit the numbers to 20+ to maximize the experience for the visitors. After the visit all guest were invited to lunch and it was possible to discuss / ask Ambassador Ms. Suphanvasa C. Tang questions related to trade between Thailand and Denmark.
ECCO opened the Shoe factory in in Thailand by 1993 and in 1999 the Tannery was established as well as a separate factory which were later moved to the premises of the ECCO Shoe production facility. ECCO Shoes are sold all over Thailand through main stores (7++) and in more than 30 shop in shop stores.
