A good friend of Copenhagen (and Denmark), Bangkok Governor Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, are going to visit Copenhagen from 16 till 19 June 2025 to study Danish technologies and modalities for sustainable urban development.
The co-operation between the Bangkok Governor and the Danish Embassy has been going on since Mr. Chadchart became the Governor of Bangkok. The co-operation has focused on sustainable urban planning, waste management and not at least air pollution. Denmark has since the launch of the environmental development programme DANCED in 1994-2000 been supporting the Bangkok Municipality with both funding and especially technical expertise on cleaner technologies. A part of this support was also canalized through green NGO movements in order to motivate a public dialogue with policy makers.
During his stay, Governor Chadchart will meet with Mr. Lars Weiss, Lord Mayor for the Municipal Government of Copenhagen and the state-owned infrastructure company Sund & Bælt, and green innovation platform State of Green among many other activities.
Copenhagen has claimed the top spot in EIU’s Global Liveability Index 2025, ending Vienna’s three-year dominance. Copenhagen achieved perfect scores of 100 for stability, education and infrastructure, moving up from second place to become the world’s most comfortable city to live in.
