The continued conflict between Israel and Hamas has economic consequences that reaches far beyond the Middle East region. This is impacting Thai exports and also lead to uncertainty for the future.

The conflict has led to increased transportation costs and delayed delivery times due to affected shipping through the Red Sea. The Ministry of Commerce of Thailand has negotiated with shipping companies to adjust freight charges based on increased costs and implement stepwise increases to help exporters manage costs better. Additionally, negotiations about ‘Free Time’ at ports aim to balance container management.

Come to learn more about the consequences from the Middle East/Red Sea conflict on transportation costs and delayed delivery times, at our housewarming reception at the DTCC Office on the 15 June 2024 where corporate member Martin Kyhn from Freightzen Logistic will introduce you to the subject.
