Recently the cabinet decided to remove the Coronation Day of King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a national holiday. This means Friday 5 May will no longer be a day off for those working for Thai companies. However, the cabinet is adding two new holidays:

  • 28 July, the birthday of Thailand’s current monarch King Vajiralongkorn.
  • 13 October, the date King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away, according to Matichon.

This year, 28 July and 13 October both fall on Fridays.
