The Danish Ambassador Visit ECCO Thailand
On 11 February 2014, The Danish Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Mikael H. Winther, Commercial Counsellor Mr. Asbjorn Overgaard and Senior Commercial Officer Khun Nantima Angkatavanich at The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok, visited ECCO’s factory in Ayutthaya.
An overall presentation of ECCO and the company’s 20 year presence in Thailand was given (including the recovery after the flood in autumn 2011), followed by a visit to the various parts of the factory.
ECCO entered Thailand in 1993 and today has some 3,000 employees at the factory in Ayutthaya. In addition, ECCO has a number of global corporate functions in Ayutthaya, such as The Shoe Making Academy and The Leather Academy (developing the company’s shoes- and leather makers for tomorrow), ECCO Engineering Asia making mold’s for the three factories in Asia (Thailand, China and Indonesia), as well as Corporate IT & SAP functions.
