10 Danish Chambers of Commerce in Asia meet up in Bangkok to form a business alliance

On Friday 7 June 2019 the Danish and Nordic Chambers of Commerce met in Bangkok for the first time ever to discuss how to establish a stronger cooperation – a business alliance between the independent Danish trade organisations in Japan, China-Beijing, China-Shanghai, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand.

The one-day regional workshop was facilitated by Asia House and financially supported by the EAC Foundation which primarily supports projects and activities that strengthen and expand commercial and cultural relations between Denmark and the countries in which the East Asiatic Company has been active, notably in Asia. Thai Airways International kindly sponsored the flight tickets to Bangkok. The logistical arrangement in Bangkok was prepared and hosted by the Danish – Thai Chamber of Commerce. Andersen Consult assisted with the facilitation of the workshop.

The workshop itself was held in the 118 years old Royal Bangkok Sports Club setting a perfect tranquility atmosphere for the meeting.

Just to meet colleagues from other Danish chambers was a great experience in itself. Nevertheless, the chambers suggested among other things to establish a common communication platform and at the same time be a portal for Danish companies guiding them to the right country and partners in Southeast and East Asia. The report from the workshop will be published later in 2019.
