Panalpina is among the globally leading providers of supply chain solutions with approximately 14,500 employees in 70 countries. The combination with DSV creates one of the world’s largest transport and logistics companies with a pro forma revenue of approximately DKK 118 billion and a workforce of 60,000 employees in 90 countries.
On 19 August 2019 DSV completed the acquisition of the Swiss logistics company Panalpina.
Panalpina is with its 14,500 employees across 70 countries, one of the world’s leading providers of supply chain solutions.
CEO of DSV, Jens Bjørn Andersen, has commented that DSV “are very excited to welcome Panalpina’s customers, employees and shareholders to DSV. Our two companies will achieve more together, creating even more value for all our stakeholders.”
Due to the acquisition, pending approval at the upcoming extraordinary general meeting will change the name of DSV A/S to “DSV Panalpina A/S”.
It is expected that the integration period for the acquisition will last 2-3 years, with most of the integration being done within 2 years. DSV expects to reach annual synergy costs of DKK 2,200 million, which will primarily be derived from the consolidation of operations, logistics facilities, administration, and IT infrastructure.
