The government has ordered an urgent investigation into reports of contaminated drinking water in Nakhon Ratchasima after Salmonella spp was detected in products sold locally.

PM’s Office Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi said she has instructed the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) to carry out a probe and coordinate with relevant agencies to check whether the manufacturer complies with legal requirements.

The action follows a warning from the provincial public health office that a sample of locally produced drinking water was found to be contaminated with Salmonella spp. Referring to an initial inspection, Ms Supamas said the registered production site had originally been a tyre processing factory, raising concerns about standards and possible contamination risks.

Suggestion: DTCC would like to recommend buying and drinking bottled water only from trusted and certified brands to ensure safety.
