DOING BUSINESS 2016
Measuring Regulatory Quality and Efficiency
Economy Profile 2016
Thailand
The World Bank Group publishes each year a report on Doing Business for 189 economies or countries tracking changes across 11 areas. One of the 2016 reports published this rainy season covers Thailand compared with neighboring countries. In other words the report looks at how easy or difficult it is to do business in Thailand. It is a fairly practical guide for the business person to assess the resources needed to start up a business in the region.
From the 2016 report it appears that Thailand overall comes out quite good (second highest score) compared with other countries in the region only outranked by Malaysia.
The report looks into 11 areas of the life cycle of establishing a Small to Medium Sized Company in Thailand. Measuring the costs and time to go through the paperwork required to start up in Thailand. The figures are based on registering a business in the capital city.
