Which type of classes are we currently looking at?
- After School on grade level
From “0. klasse” (approx. the age of 6) and up, lessons will be offered in Danish literacy on grade level. We already have enough children signed up to offer a weekly lesson at NIST, ISB and Patana. The classes on NIST and ISB are as well open for children who are not enrolled at NIST or ISB. The tuition will be differentiated to fit each attending child’s level of Danish. For After School on grade level it is, however, a requirement that the child speaks Danish.
The teaching material will be based on one of Danes Worldwide’s two programs; you can choose between Danes Online or Group teaching. More information will be sent out later, but you can already now read more about the two programs on www.danes.dk/danskundervisning.
- After School on beginner level
We are looking into the possibility of creating lessons for children who are on beginner level on different locations around Bangkok. This means they don’t have to speak Danish to participate. If classes are offered at NIST and ISB, they will be open for children who are not enrolled at NIST or ISB. In case there aren’t enough children to fill up a class, it will be moved to NIST and held on Saturdays. The teaching material will be based on Danes Worldwide’s program “Dansk for begyndere”. More information will be sent out later, but you can already now read more about the program on http://www.danes.dk/danskundervisning/dansk-for-begyndere/om-dansk-for-begyndere.
- Play Group on Saturdays
On Saturdays, Danish Play Groups for children in the age 3-5 will be arranged. With different teaching methods, Danish games and structured play, the children will learn Danish, communicate with other Danish children and hopefully have fun at the same time. The Play Groups will be held on NIST and
are open to everyone. From 14th of May and 6 Saturdays ahead, this will start up as a test period. Here
we will figure out how to divide the children into the right groups based on age and Danish language skills.
The teaching material will be based on Danes Worldwide’s program “Førskole-pakker: Dansk for de mindset”. More information will be sent out later, but you can already now read more about the program on http://www.danes.dk/danskundervisning/andre-undervisningsprod/foer-skolepakker.

● Teacher salary
Some of the roles of NIST International School will be to provide the all-important work permit for the teacher and an educational environment as the home base of the teacher.
The teacher salary is therefore to be covered by parents who sign up to the Danes Worldwide School and the costs will be per child.
As Danes Worldwide School is a non-profit school, the teachers salary will be calculated on number of children signed-up to the school; the more children, the cheaper pricing. We are only interested in making this as cheap as possible.
It is important for us to state that we are looking for a highly qualified Danish teacher, who will work full time on this project. The teacher will not only cover the classroom teaching at the different locations, but will also be responsible for preparation and parts of administration of the Danes Worldwide School.
Danes Worldwide in collaboration with NIST is looking for candidates in both Thailand and Denmark to undertake this roll.
This is still a working process, but a rough estimate will be:
500 THB per hour per child, 1 hour per week, approx. 36 weeks per school year = 18.000 THB per school year per child.
