Due to rising tensions and conflicts around the world, it has become increasingly important for governments to know the whereabouts of their citizens.
Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reminding Danish citizens who have travelled abroad to remove themselves from the “Danes List” once they have returned home.
The Danes List is used by the ministry to keep track of Danish citizens overseas and to contact them in case of emergencies such as conflicts, natural disasters, or other crisis situations.
According to the ministry’s citizen services department, cancelling registrations after returning home helps ensure that authorities have a more accurate overview of how many Danish citizens remain abroad and may require assistance.
Citizens who registered through the Rejseklar app can delete their registration directly within the app. Those who signed up online can cancel their registration by using the cancellation link included in the confirmation email they received during registration.
