On 3 November 2020, the DTCC office had a chance to visit our new member, Essentia Protein Solutions, at their office at Emporium Tower locating in the middle of one of Bangkok’s busiest areas, Phrom Phong.

Mr. Sami Mikail, General Manager and Regional Director for Asia/Pacific, CEE, Middle East, welcomed us warmly with a company introduction and background.

Background

Essentia Protein Solutions is a part of the Lauridsen Group Inc. Essentia Protein Solutions has a headquarter based in Gråsten, Denmark, with several modern production plants across Denmark and Europe. Essentia was established in 2013 with specialization in protein parts for food. Essentia Protein Solutions is a producer of animal protein solutions deriving from natural raw materials such as pork, lamb, etc. The proteins from Essentia are processed without any additives so the final products are all-natural.

Thailand

Essentia Protein Solutions has been active in Asia for some time but has decided to have an office in Bangkok in 2020. Essentia has a team spreading across major Asian locations such as Tokyo, Shanghai etc. Currently, Essentia has an established market in Thailand in these segments: meat, savory, and pet food. They have a plan to expand the segments in both Thailand and other countries in Asia Pacific. The Asia Pacific region has the most potential for growth and therefore a good location for business expansion. The region has many new markets to be explored, which is also part of Essentia’s strategy. Currently, the office in Thailand is comprised of three people including Mr.Sami Mikail.

Customer Oriented Production

Essentia Protein Solutions are customer centric. They put the benefits of the customers before anything else. Their customers are food producers and companies in the food industry. Another future strategy of Essentia is to develop key accounts with big customers instead of relying on distributors only. They also plan to set up a regional warehouse in Asia to make the products shipment more accessible and attractive to existing and new customers.
